From fire to electricity to the digital bit, new ways of controlling matter, energy and information have repeatedly transformed society. Today, quantum computing captures much of the public imagination \u2013 but behind it lies another frontier: quantum control. Researchers at ETH Zurich are developing methods to interact light and matter with extraordinary precision, enabling new ways to control the quantum world. Whether or not quantum computers soon enter everyday life, quantum control is already changing how we understand and interact with nature.<\/p>\n
